Get Through The Storm And Walk Among Stars

Christmas air can sometimes be exaggerated and dreadful. Sometimes it can be playful. While it is helpful for one who wants to curl up in bed, it is a challenge for another who needs to cross the sea to get home.

With ferry trips from Cebu to Bohol being cancelled, I thought I wouldn’t be able to make it to last Friday’s benefit dinner, the ‘Walk Among Stars’, at Bluewater Resort Panglao. And if my will weren’t stronger than the typhoon Marce, I could have missed a once-a-year fabulous event and might end up regretting for the rest of my life.

For who would want to miss the mind-blowing, star-studded walkway leading to a fancy-lit, poolside restaurant?

Or the angelic voices of an international award winning ensemble, HNU Chorale, or the bossa Christmas carols of JAM403 heard over a sumptuous buffet?

With Raul Phillip Gatal hosting the gathering, and with BlueWater Panglao Manager, Crispo Caingcoy welcoming the guests, the evening couldn’t be better.

The event would not be complete without introducing the beneficiaries of 12 days of Christmas – Danao and Looc elementary schools. And of course, the most awaited lighting of the gigantic Christmas tree has made the night even more special.

My friends and I wrapped up the evening with a promenade along the walkway lined with lanterns illuminating like stars. The atmosphere was indeed a fusion of yuletide and romance, making the night worth of getting through a thick, stranded crowd in the seaport, plunging into a muddy road, begging the captain to let me board on a cargo ship, and disguising as a vegetable vendor. The night was indeed a well-deserved reward I cannot forget.

So, whatever your storm is, get through it and walk among stars at BlueWater Resort. Be blown away, be mesmerized, and most importantly, be a blessing.

The Stars

Missed this year’s soirée? No worries. It is an annual event anyway. See you next year!
