Philippines Concludes 38th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week

I received this message from my service provider.

Then, it reminded me that Pierre and I took part of this celebration. Geared to the stimulation of public awareness on concerns of disability, the NDPR Week ends today, July 23, 2016. Thanks to the teachers of Tagbilaran City Central SPED Center, I learned that this activity is in observance of the birthdate of the Sublime Paralytic, Apolinario Mabini.

What makes me excited is this year’s NDPR week’s theme, “Karapatan ng Maykapansanan Isakatuparan…Now Na!” This is so right as differently-abled people should have the same benefits as that of the Senior Citizens. And what made me cry were those amazing kids showcasing their special talents to entertain the public. I mean, I couldn’t imagine those hearing-impaired students dancing Tinikling. How could they do that? And they didn’t just dance. They nailed it!

And yeah, Pierre danced Cha-Cha, too. (I’m a stage mom, by the way. And I’m his number one fan.)
