Snowpy And Me

I had always thought that a cone of ice cream would make my day and a cup of coffee would whip me up to keep on writing no matter how bad my day goes. I had always thought that chocolates would redeem me from being down until a dear friend who has been successful in his field told me that it’s reminiscing his childhood days that’s carrying him on.

He was right. And although I was hit with nostalgia, my own memories of running wild on open plains, rolling over a giant pile of rice hulls, crawling on bermuda grasses, hiding around untrimmed bushes of santan, climbing up on guava and starapple trees or even dodging some sticky and brownish thingy which freshly came from a cow’s behind, had made me giggle. My friend was right when he said that revisiting the past is not really a bad thing. In fact, recalling my past had brought me a new strength to carry on, pushing me to keep going to heights I haven’t been to.

But going back down memory lane has also brought me tears of past hurts and disappointments, and of things that I wished I had. And these frustrations and shattered dreams have boiled up a heated conversation, leading to an exchange of all-caps-locked text messages, putting the friendship into its own peril. And the worst, these frustrations might put an end to a beautiful relationship that I have treasured for years.

The bottomline is, do whatever makes you alive. What makes other people happy doesn’t always mean that it will make you happy as well.

So, here I am, back with my Snowpy.

And with this.

And also with this.

A yummy spaghetti serving

And now I’m carbo overloaded. But who cares, anyway? I’m pumped up. And that’s all that matters. That’s what I’m after in the first place.

There really is something delightful about ice cream and carbs- isn’t there? ๐Ÿ˜‰ They remind me of my childhood too! Everything looks delicious!

The ice cream looks really good, same as the other food. Ice cream will always make you feel better, no matter what

Thanks, Joanna. Ice creams really have a place in our hearts.

Oh, that Sundae icecream topped with syrup and M&Ms looks really tempting.. okay now I am craving for sundae haha.. I agree about the past-thingy.. there is really nothin wrong to reminisce those precious memories you made from your past or even those memories that can only make you cry.. those are some reminders that “hey you made it this far, look what you are now!” … the only thing that you have to refrain yourself is to dwell on your past as it will not give you a chance to grow and to move on

Wow, you said it all, Milton – that past-thingy, I mean. And yes, Snowpy is so irresistible. Thanks.

What makes other people happy doesnโ€™t always mean that it will make you happy as well —I can attest to this. Sometimes I look back in the past simply to learn from it. I hate my past though I acknowledge it because I would not be who I am today if it were not for the past.

What can go wrong when you have a cup of sundae, right? But seriously, the past is what makes you stronger so it wouldn’t hurt reminiscing and making “hugot” once in a while….. especially with ice cream.

Some memories can be hard to look back on but when you think about it, we had to go through it to be able to appreciate all the happy ones. ๐Ÿ™‚

I turn to good when I feel bad about my past, present or future! Haha! ๐Ÿ˜›

I hate it because Snowpy isn’t in the mall near our house anymore. They somehow removed. I don’t know why. I like it pa naman. Very cheap and yummy.

“…recalling my past had brought me a new strength to carry on.” I always do that, too. Sometimes you just really need to look back and see how far you’ve come to appreciate where you are in life now. I had many regrets and disappointments in the past as well, but I figured that shouldn’t stop me from pursuing what I want in my life at all! ๐Ÿ™‚
